Rabei Alaisami arrived at the Southeast Startup Challenge in Augusta ready to create something. He won one of two spots to advance to the statewide competition in Macon. He has since joined forces with Vonny Nogales to form RoVoTechs!

What is the business?
RoVoTechs develops customized mobile apps to increase the quality of service for the healthcare industry.
When and where did you found it?
Through the Southeast Startup Challenge which took place at theClubhou.se in March of 2018.
Where is the business now?
We are in the process of developing our first product.
Any significant experiences/skills that have influenced your business?
Rabbi is studying for a Masters in Public Health at Augusta University and has a medical background. Vonny loves development and is open to new challenges. She has a computer science degree and loves anything related to IT.
Any previous entrepreneurial experience?
Vonny had an IT business in South America where she learned about management and innovation. Change is inevitable, and after a while she had the option to immigrate.
What appealed to you about entrepreneurship?
To have a new adventure and to set up our own business. We also enjoy the the opportunity to change lives with the idea for a product or service that has the potential to make a huge impact.
How did you get the idea?
By participating with the Southeast Startup Challenge at theClubhou.se.
How has your idea progressed over time?
Although we have kept the original model, we are making some changes in the end-user interface.
How did you find your co-founders?
At English class, we studied together for 2 years although our professional careers are different and we have worked in different projects, we decided to partner on this new challenge.
How did you market your business?
The business is in progress, and not into the marketing phase yet. We plan to use word of mouth initially and then expand to other marketing methods.
Who are your main competitors?
There are a lot of IT companies, locally and nationally, but we plan to give a customized solution for every customer.
Steve Jobs co-founder of Apple, he made a technology industry revolution which made us smarter and showed us a better way to utilize technology tools. And of course we can’t leave behind Bill Gates whose technology we use in our daily life. Both had a big impact in our lives. Their innovations have likely touched nearly every aspect regarding technology and communication. And Mark Zuckerberg for sure.
Best piece of advice?
Never give up. All dreams can come true if we work hard for it.
Common misconceptions about your business/entrepreneurship in general?
That one size fits all and that entrepreneurs are only motivated by money
What is next for your business?
Keep developing this project, having a good market for it, then developing other apps for some ideas in my mind.
What next for you?
We’ll continue to work hard in order to achieve our goals. We have some plans, though we will keep hush for now. We’ll reveal it later this fall possibly.

Our project started because of theClubhou.se, so we’re looking forward to working more closely with the community and learn from their experience. It’s a great opportunity for our company to grow.
