Everyone needs a little help sometimes, and theClubhou.se member Christopher Crozier may just have your solution in hand. He is participating in the Startup Life program here at theClubhou.se and his business, Mobile Mentors, has him all about the area. Check him out!

What is the business?

Mobile Mentors (www.mobilementors.co) is a service based company that is focused on technology. It is essentially a brand that wants its customers to feel comfortable with technology.

We cultivate that feeling of comfort through in-home training, consultations, and a concierge service.

When and where did you found it?

I founded Mobile Mentors in November 2016.

Where is the business now?

After a little over a year, the business is building its client base and is still on the path to making the best technological experience for those in the CSRA.

What were you like in school?

A mix of Class Clown and Prom King.

Any extra-curricular activities?

I enjoy playing tennis, weekly game nights with friends, and I recently finished some introductory classes for sign language

Any significant experiences/skills that influenced your business?

I worked as a sales representative for a clothing company which enabled me to work closely with an entrepreneur and make websites. While working for the clothing company I was also on staff with a church as a youth minister, which afforded me a leadership role and the opportunity to plan out my own workload. I have to credit my most impactful work experience to the five years I spent at Apple Inc.. My time with Apple truly helped to hone my customer service skills and discover my passion for technology.

Any previous entrepreneurial experience? Lessons learned?

Even at a young age I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, whether it was starting a lawn care business, selling things, or providing a service that others needed. I would say the biggest lesson I’ve learned is “Know Your Worth”.

What appealed to you about entrepreneurship?

I was never one who thought of being an entrepreneur, but as time progressed I fell in love with the freedom, ownership, and the ability to make an impact in the area in which I’m passionate.

How did you get the idea?

Relaxing at home I had the idea of a tailored technology experience. Once I had the idea, I began to sort out how everything would work if I made it into a business and I slowly pitched it to friends.

How has your idea progressed over time?

After sitting on the idea for a few years, it has progressed to more than just training. Mobile Mentors has developed into website design and a concierge service for a more enjoyable technology experience.

How did you fund the business?

One of the great things about my business is that I have little to no overhead. I fund the business by taking appointments and working as a waiter on the weekends.

How did you market your business?

In the past year I have not advertised. All my business has come from word of mouth.

Who are your main competitors?

My main competitors would probably be Geek Squad, Savvy Senior Training, and Apple.

What have you learned from your competitors?

I have learned that any business that is focused on customer service will be a success.

What does a typical day involve for you?

A typical day includes some morning routines, checking emails, and then following up with my customers. My customers are like my family, so checking in and following up is my favorite part of the day.

Favorite movies?

Forrest Gump, Lawless, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

Favorite entrepreneurs?

Cornelius Vanderbilt, John D. Rockefeller, Henry Ford, David Crozier (Grandfather)

Best piece of advice?

“You can fail at what you don’t want… so you might as well take a chance at doing what you love”- Jim Carrey

What is next for your business?

I plan to hire on a trainer in the next year to help with trainings as well as website design and workshops.

What next for you?

I’m always learning more about technology, though I believe my next step will be taking that knowledge and moving it to an online video subscription service within the next year.

How has working out of theClubhou.se benefitted your company?

Though I am new to theClubhou.se, I have benefitted greatly from the community of entrepreneurs that want to push you towards success.
