What is Rebuilding?
In 2017, nature and man brought destruction to places and people on scales previously unimagined. Yet, in the rubble of catastrophe, we discover stories of how communities and families work together, or how individuals create purpose out of their circumstance.
Art has the power to capture the struggle and celebration of this rebuilding process and challenge us all to make something beautiful out of our own tragedies.
Addressing this theme of rebuilding – whether community, physical, emotional, or spiritual – Makervillage is pleased to announced that we are accepting entries for our first curated exhibit to be on display January 2018.
The Rebuild Begins
All artwork submitted must be an original piece made by the artist or group listed on the below application. There is no timeframe limit on when the artwork was made, so long as it fits within the general “Rebuilding” theme of the exhibit. All mediums welcome. This exhibit will be juried by the Makervillage Gallery Committee, a group comprised of artists and art supporters involved in the local creative communities.
DEADLINE: Art submissions must be received by Wednesday, December 13, 2017 via the online application form.
