What’s happening in our community?

As the heat of summer begins to wane, autumn brings with it an uptick in activity. is involved with a range of events in the coming weeks. The events we partner with extend our mission to connect the community of with the greater Augusta community.

Each event has a particular slice of society that gravitates to it. TechNet and Young AFCEA will be a military and security crowd while Arts in the Heart will draw folks with an aesthetic inclination. TEDx Augusta is about ideas and Maker Faire looks at hands on tinkering. The Innovation Summit is about bringing business ideas to fruition. Both USC Aiken and The Kroc Center have science-centered events geared towards kids and teens available in October.

We are looking for members interested in representing by volunteering at these booths or events. You can volunteer for a few hours and spend the rest of the time meeting other organizations and checking out the activities. August 26th, 2015: is cosponsoring an event at The Inside Drive with Young AFCEANs of Augusta following the Wednesday session of the Tech Net Conference. We are holding our weekly Beer and Bytes in conjunction with this event. Please RSVP at this link to receive FREE drinks as a member of

September 18th-20th, 2015: Arts in the Heart of Augusta is in it’s 35th year and is the premier arts event in the city. Vendors set up booths to showcase their creations and there is food representing a variety of cultural backgrounds. Read more about the event at this link.

September 23rd, 2015 4:00 p.m. : This will be our second organizational meeting for TEDx Augusta 2016. Teams are currently forming. If you’re are amped for TEDx Augusta, come be a part of the collective that makes this happen. A call for speakers has gone out and the site is live at this link.

October 3rd & 4th, 2015: Maker Faire Atlanta brings folks from all walks of life with a shared need to make. Whether it is solutions to a common problem, a fun way to entertain yourself, or an interesting perspective, you are bound to find a project to tinker with on your own. October 6th, 2015: Innovation Summit asks you to “Join your colleagues at this exciting conference in Augusta where distinguished speakers will share trends, strategies, and practical advice about how you can transfer good ideas into great products and services.” The conference is being held at the Kroc Center. October 10th, 2015: S.E.E.D. (Science Education Enrichment Day) is a full day of science-related activities at USC Aiken. There is sure to be something for those who are scientifically inclined or have an interest in learning. More information is available at this link.

October 22nd, 2015: STEM Connections at The Kroc Center is an event for high school juniors and seniors interested in learning more about STEM careers. There is more information available at the bottom of this page link.

Located in a historic 1802 Schoolhouse, our space is divided into two wings. One for learning and prototyping, and one for coworking and business incubation. Our membership comes from a wide variety of backgrounds that all consider themselves some measure of hacker, maker, and doer. I am an architect. We have entrepreneurs, business people, teachers, engineers, designers, artists, and Jacks and Jill’s of all trades, and of course many software and hardware developers.
