First Friday

We’re gearing up for the National Day of Civic Hacking!

There have been projects put forth by individuals and organizations in the last year that have complimented the scene, adding to the identity of Augusta. In essence, folks are hacking the city! Improving your space is a natural experience we can all have. Initiative and innovation by these folks have made living and working in Augusta more exciting. They are an inspiration for others to contribute to the culture by harnessing a passion for what can be with skill sets to make it happen. Hack Augusta is highlighting these endeavors with the First Annual Hack Augusta Awards!  This year we are focusing on arts endeavors, media campaigns, new business, and more. The public is invited to come down Saturday June 6th at 5:00 p.m. to witness the awards ceremony!

This coincides with the National Day of Civic Hacking, a nationwide event which focuses on anybody who has a passion to make their city better. If you have an idea to improve the city, bring it down to theClubhou.se on June 5th and 6th and share with others and we will see what we can create! Here is a link to the schedule of events on Facebook.

Located in a historic 1802 Schoolhouse, our space is divided into two wings. One for learning and prototyping, and one for coworking and business incubation. Our membership comes from a wide variety of backgrounds that all consider themselves some measure of hacker, maker, and doer. I am an architect. We have entrepreneurs, business people, teachers, engineers, designers, artists, and Jacks and Jill’s of all trades, and of course many software and hardware developers.
