Entrepreneurs of all stages and those interested in alternative investment opportunities are invited to join this community education event.crowdfunding workshop from makervillage and sparkmarket

We are pleased as punch to offer the first in a (hopefully) long line of education workshops centered around topics related to growing modern businesses and building community maker-style!

We’ve teamed up with Heritage First Bank to bring SparkMarket to lead a crowdfunding workshop for local entrepreneurs, inventors, and investors interested in alternative finance options. A short presentation will be followed by extended Q&A.

The workshop, led by co-founders Megan Johnson and Jeff Bekiares, will provide basic understanding of the crowdfunding environment, and explore the opportunities made possible by the Invest Georgia Exemption. The IGE legislation makes Georgia one of only a handful of states where businesses and startups can sell shares of equity to both accredited investors and everyday Georgians looking to invest in their communities.

All levels of business or investment experience welcome. This is the place to get your legal or financial questions answered related to crowdfunding for money-raising or as for money-making! The workshop is free to the public. Food and drinks will be provided.

Event Details:

When: Wednesday July 30, 7 p.m.
Where: 7hills Makerspace, 336 Broad St., Penthouse Floor
Costs: Free.
Provisions: Yummy food from Harvest Moon + Coffee from Swift & Finch + a selection of alcoholic beverages
